Portland-based manufacturer secures the highest possible certification for food safety and quality; completes significant expansion and invests additional $4M in new packaging automation
PORTLAND, Ore. – May 28, 2015 – Bridgetown Natural Foods, a manufacturing partner for all-natural, gluten-free and organic food products, announced today that it achieved Safe Quality Food (SQF) 2000 Level 3 Certification by the Safe Quality Food Institute, a globally trusted, recognized and accepted food safety and quality program. This third-party inspection is the most stringent certification awarded by SQFI.

Since 2012, Bridgetown Natural Foods held a SQF Level 2 certification. SQF Level 3 includes a full quality control plan with significant documentation and procedural development in addition to the food safety requirements of Level 2. While not required by all customers, securing the rigorous SQF Level 3 certification reflects Bridgetown’s diligence and integration of quality management systems and safety – from the sourcing of ingredients to the handling and packaging of products.
The SQF Level 3 Certification dovetails with the company’s completion of a 20,000-square foot expansion of its facility, creating a 130,000-square foot facility for the daily production of approximately two million snack bars and 50,000 pounds of clustered snack products.
In order to continue to develop flexibility and capability, Bridgetown has invested $4 million in automated packaging equipment to be installed and commissioned in Q4 2015.
